Kay Ferriter
Kay Ferriter
Kay has been a practising psychotherapist since 1989 and is a founding member of the Dublin Gestalt Centre. After completing her masters in Social Science in UCD, (her thesis was on Co-Dependence), she went on to train in Gestalt Therapy with Netta and Marvin Kaplan and Vincent Humphreys.
This Relational model of Gestalt therapy with its roots in Gestalt Systems Theory and Costructivism is an optimistic theory of human behaviour suited to individual, couple and group work.
As well as having been heavily involved in development of and running of training programmes in the Dublin Gestalt Centre, Kay has run skills training groups and facilitated process groups on the Masters in Counselling in Trinity College and also for the Diploma in Careers Guidance in UCD. Kay has been involved in the HSE sponsored course “Everything you wanted to know about Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgendered people and were afraid to ask” and has also run workshops on Gestalt Therapy for the Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dun Laoighre and for the Masters in Psychotherapy programme in DCU.
Kay is an accredited supervisor and provides both individual team and group supervision.
As a therapist I have been priviledged that for over twenty years people have told me their stories, their past and their future hopes and in so doing have allowed me to become part of their unfolding embodied present. It is a humbling, amazing and eventful journey.
