Claire is one of the founding members of the Dublin Gestalt Centre. She is a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Supervisor, accredited with IAHIP and IACP. Claire has a background in Social Work and completed her Social Work training in University College Dublin. She has a Masters in Social Science from U.C.D. and worked as a social worker for 15 years, until 1988, when she started working in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Claire trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy with Netta and Marvin Kaplan of the Nof Yam Institute of Advanced Gestalt Therapy, Israel, and also with Vincent Humphries in the Dublin Institute of Gestalt Therapy. In 1994, with Kay Ferriter and Judy O’Hanlon, Claire set up the Dublin Gestalt Centre.

Claire works as a psychotherapist in the Dublin Gestalt Centre, seeing individuals and couples, with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. She has experience in working with people recovering from sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. She also has considerable experience in working with people who experience bereavement, loss and life transitions. Claire works with people who are struggling to find ways to live well with mental health problems and with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression and stress related difficulties.

Claire is an experienced Supervisor, working with a broad range of Psychotherapists, Counsellors and Allied Health Professionals.

In the Dublin Gestalt Centre Claire is a member of the Training Team. She works as a trainer on the two, well-established, Postgraduate Training Courses in Gestalt Therapy, the “Diploma in Relational Gestalt Therapy; Intensive Course” and “Working with the Gestalt Process”. She has a particular interest in supervision training and is one of the trainers on the 2 year Diploma in Supervision, using a Relational Gestalt Model.

Over many years, Claire has also been involved in providing a broad range of Gestalt Training Workshops e.g.Working with Couples, Working with Dreams, Working with issues of Sexuality and Using Creative Modalities.

Along with Kay Ferriter and Judy O Hanlon, Claire has enjoyed working to develop their particular model of Relational Gestalt Therapy in the Dublin Gestalt Centre.
